According to the Guangxi Department of Ecology and Environment, during the fourth meeting of the 13th National People's Congress of the Autonomous Region, Luo Pingyuan and other three representatives put forward suggestions on supporting guests to develop and expand the degradable environmental protection product industry (No. 2021015). In this regard, the Guangxi Department of Ecology and Environment attaches great importance to it and actively cooperates with the promotion of plastic pollution control in accordance with the responsibilities of the department.
According to the relevant requirements of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the National Development and Reform Commission, the Guangxi Department of Ecology and Environment has jointly issued the "Plastic Pollution in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in 2021" in conjunction with the Autonomous Region's Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Market Supervision Bureau. Carry out the investigation of plastic waste recycling and disposal enterprises. Actively organize and carry out the investigation of plastic waste recycling and disposal enterprises in the whole district, and find out the environmental protection problems in the industry and find out the plastic waste recycling in Guangxi by consulting the enterprise environmental assessment procedures, environmental protection laws, and on-site verification of technical processes and equipment. Use the disposal situation to supervise and urge the problematic enterprises to implement environmental rectification. As of December 2020, Guangxi has investigated a total of 410 waste plastic recycling, disposal and reuse enterprises, and found 161 enterprises with environmental problems, reported to the local government to ban 30, and ordered 125 to rectify.
At the same time, marine garbage monitoring and beach cleaning operations were carried out. According to the deployment of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the autonomous region on marine garbage monitoring, Guangxi will set up monitoring points on the beaches of Beihai Qiaogang Sea Bathing Beach, Qinzhou Sanniang Bay Tourist Scenic Area, and Fangchenggang Bailangtan Tourist Area in 2020 to carry out marine debris monitoring; and In 2021, pilot monitoring of marine microplastics will be added in key sea areas. In the next step, the Guangxi Department of Ecology and Environment will do the following tasks in accordance with the requirements of "Guangxi Plastic Pollution Control Work Points in 2021":
